RACINGTRACK TOR POZNAN 2009-05-18

Tor Poznan is a professional racetrack which hosts the Polish Championship Race every year. The track is 4083 m long and 12 m broad. It has many good and challenging bends. The track is situated near an airport, about 6 km from the centre of the city. You can see the plan of the racetrack and pictures on our website – see below – or on the website of Tor Poznan (only in Polish).

Below you will find some opinions of the participants of the course (NB: Wherever you find information about “bumpy” or “rough” surface, you can forget about it! The racetrack has got a new surfacing in May 2006 so it is just perfect now!).

I think it is the best racetrack I have ever tried, and I have tried both tracks in Mantorp Park, Anderstorp, Sturup and Knutstorp, all in Sweden. The track is demanding with difficult bends, good straight stretches and generally it is very cool, with good exits and accurate length. There are a few places with rough surface where your bike’s suspension is “tested”, but that is also an instructive experience.
I am really glad with the tour and will recommend it to all the people I know.

The track in Poznan, contrary to the Danish tracks, has a full length (4,2 km). That means there are 2 long sides which enable high speeds. You are driving mostly on the right side, that is why there are more right-hand bends but there are also 3 left-hand bends. There are low- and midspeed turns. There is not much of level differences on the track. The asphalt is rather rough, with patched here and there but good grip in general. The racetrack is situated in the middle of a forest, close to an airport, so apart from some nearby planes landing or taking off there are no obstacles whatsoever.

The track is fun and challenging. It combines high speed stretches and technically-demanding challenges. Good grip but unfortunately a bit bumpy – it has a slightly negative influence on the overall opinion about the track. It’s a pity they did not change the surfacing at some point. Then it would be a lot more attractive for many.
Arne Selmer (NO)

The track is twice as long as most of the tracks in Scandinavia (ca. 4 km comparing to ca. 2 km) and broader in comparison to what we are used to, with much more space. It has good right- and left-hand bends. There are some patches on the track from different asphalt layers, so the track’s surfacing is slightly bumpy in some places.
