Wroclaw - Polish Venice? 2008-08-29 Wroclaw is undoubtedly one of Poland's most beautiful cities. Though less known, it can easily compete with the much more famous Cracow.
Much of Wroclaw's charm lies in its special location by the Odra river and its tributaries. It is the river that forced the city's inhabitants to build a whole system of bridges connecting different parts of the city. Thanks to it, Wroclaw is often called "Polish Venice".
Wroclaw is a vibrant city all year round. It is a university city, offering its guests a variety of attractions. Everyone will find something interesting here - those who like historical places and monuments, as well as those who simply enjoy taking a stroll along narrow streets and visits at local cafes and galleries.
Nature lovers will be very pleased with Wroclaw when they discover the only Japanese Garden in Poland, as well as many other lovely gardens and huge parks, favoured by both tourists and local people.
